Community Development and Safety Assessments

Vision Statement of Program Direction

Mayers Strategic Solutions, LLC consults with your community organization or law enforcement to assess their policies, procedures, trainings, and practices related to community-police relations.

This assessment includes:

  1. hiring and promotions of law enforcement officers;

  2. development and modification of departmental policies and procedures;

  3. training of law enforcement officers; discipline of law enforcement officers;

  4. and data collection, analysis, and public reporting of law enforcement activities related to community-police interactions.

For this project, community-police relations cover body-worn cameras, stops, searches, arrests, crisis intervention techniques, use of force, implicit bias, cultural sensitivity, community violence prevention and intervention strategies and mechanisms, etc.

This assessment will also involve receiving information from public safety stakeholders in your city, including law enforcement and community members, about improving community-police relations to address law enforcement misconduct and crime like community violence. This effort will be achieved by utilizing the C.A.T. Method® (which stands for Community Empowerment, Accountability, Transparency) in combination with interactive technology to facilitate public safety listening sessions within target neighborhoods in your city. Utilizing interactive technology will allow participants to anonymously interact in real-time; and will make the public safety listening sessions engaging for audiences by bringing the conversation to the cellphone, laptop, tablet, and any other Wi-Fi devices. The public safety listening sessions can range from 2 to 3 hours long and will be focused on creating solutions-oriented processes and mechanisms that are custom-tailored and authentic for the community.
