Mayers II Esq. was presented an award for his public safety advocacy by the Okaloosa County Branch of the NAACP during their 32nd Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on October 11, 2024 in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Branch president Sabu Williams presented the award following Mayers' keynote speech on the theme "All In: We're Not Going Back."
In his speech, Mayers II Esq. provided a possible path forward since the tragic officer-involved death of United States Air Force serviceman Roger Fortson who was fatally shot in his home by a deputy from the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
